Purposes of the processing

We process the following personal data to provide a functional website:

• User Agent
• URL Path
• IP address (encrypted)

The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest.

Use of the Fearbase

To register for use of Fearbase, the following personal data is requested:

• First and last name
• Email address.

In order to publish your research data via Fearbase, you must first complete a Data Sharing Agreement, in which the following personal data is collected from you:

• First and last name
• Affiliation (including institutional address)
• Postal address

The provision of this personal data is necessary and required for the purpose of implementing the contractual relationship between you and the Research Data Center at the ZPID (RDC at ZPID) as the data-holding infrastructure of Fearbase. Your data will be processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
To use Fearbase research data, you must enter into a “data use agreement.” The following personal data will be collected:

• First and last name
• Affiliation (including institutional address)
• Postal address

The provision of this personal data is necessary and required for the purpose of implementing the contractual relationship that arises. It is processed in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Storage Period

The data will remain with us permanently until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory legal provisions—in particular statutory storage periods—remain unaffected.
Your personal data will be processed exclusively by the employees at Bielefeld University and the ZPID involved in the Fearbase project.

Your rights as a data subject

You have the right of access (pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR), as well as the right to data portability (pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR) and the right to object (pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR). If the processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
